Approximately 8 million pregnant women were tested for HIV in 2011 with the steady progress in PMTCT, increasing coverage from 10 per cent in 2008 to 44 per cent in 2011. In 2013, about 3,081 pregnant women living with HIV were receiving antiretroviral drugs for the prevention of mother-to-child-transmission, accounting for 81 per cent of all pregnant women living with HIV. Among infants born to women living with HIV, the infection rate declined from 12.8 per cent in 2005 to 6.7 per cent in 2013107.
