UNICEF is the United Nations Children's Fund. Our mandate from the United Nations General Assembly is to help children around the world realize their rights to survival, development, protection and participation.
Although we are part of the UN, our budget comes from independent sources. We receive all our funding from voluntary contributions made by governments, individuals, businesses and foundations. The private sector donates one-third of our annual worldwide budget.
In China, UNICEF (联合国儿童基金会) is sometimes confused with the Children's Fund (儿基会). The Children's Fund is a different organization run by the All China Women's Federation, which is our partner on many projects. If you are looking for the Children's Fund, please click this link.

We are a diverse group of experts on children's issues from China and many countries around the world.
