Children in Ganjing primary school in Zhong County are learning about the hygiene behaviors in schools and at home in participatory manner. These hygiene behavior flashcards were developed by UNICEF, the purpose is to encourage the schoolchildren to identify the “good, bad and not sure” hygiene behavior actively, in this group discussion process, the schoolchildren can understand a lot of key messages about personal hygiene issues, help them to develop the good personal hygiene habit greatly.

After the group discussion, the children showed their results to the whole class, this process will improve their confidence on open talk to public, will help all the children to formulate a class level action plan to improve the learning environment and personal hygiene.

This education method can help them to understand how the faeces go into mouth if you do not have a good hygiene practices, this also help them to consider what they need to do later to cut the transmission route of “faeces-to-mouth” diseases.
