UNICEF launches new website for China

05/03/2012

Beijing,  5 March, 2012 - We at the UNICEF China team are happy to present our new official website ( www.unicef.cn) in both Chinese and English languages. Our aim is to provide China's hundreds of millions of internet users with the latest information and tools to help improve the situation of children in the world's most populous country.

In our new website, you will find your navigation faster, more interactive and enjoyable. We present the best of UNICEF's high-quality photos and videos that will take you closer to the real lives of the children, families and communities that we work with in China.

We bring our programme work in China closer to you by explaining “What we do” in such areas as health and nutrition, water and sanitation, education, social policy, child protection and emergency response. You will see case studies of what we have done to reduce the disparities that affect the children and their families who have not been able to fully take part in China's rapid economic and social development.

We open our knowledge resources to all the interested visitors. Many of our publications are available to the public. A comprehensive atlas of social indicators on children in both Chinese and English languages can be downloaded for free.

We encourage journalists to report about children's issues in China and welcome media friends to join our advocacy campaigns.

Protecting the rights of children can only be done if every individual plays a part. With this new website you will find many new ways to join us to help children. One of the most important things you can do is inform yourself about the situation of children, then become an advocate for children's rights by sharing knowledge, stories, videos and photos with your SNS friends and encouraging them to visit our website.

Our ‘Take Actions' pages provide hundreds of simple suggestions on how to help children, which we call the “Facts For Life”. We encourage you to explore them, to see how you can make your community more caring and protective. You are also warmly welcomed to join the UNICEF China's family by looking out for internships and full-time job vacancies.

Last but not least, we would like to hear your voices! Please keep in touch with us by following us on Weibo (Sina, Tencent), or signing up to receive our regular email newsletters.

It's important to note that other websites that were linked to former URLs, including www.unicef.cn and www.unicef.org/china, no longer exist. The one official voice of the UNICEF China Office is www.unicef.cn.
